Our company is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team and support our continued success in this dynamic industry.

Job Overview:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, overseeing financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and is solution oriented with efficiencies & automation ideas. This role will require collaboration with various departments to drive financial efficiency and ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly financial statements, as well as variance analysis to provide insights into financial performance.

Month-End Closing Process:

  • Prepare and review journal entries for the month-end close, ensuring proper recording and classification of transactions.

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness, including:

  • Accounts Receivable (AR): Ensure that all aged receivables are reviewed, and any necessary adjustments or allowances are made.

  • Prepaid Expenses: Review and adjust prepaid expense accounts for accurate allocation over time.

  • Fixed Assets/Depreciation: Ensure depreciation schedules are updated, assets are correctly classified, and depreciation is recorded in accordance with company policy.

  • Accruals: Identify any necessary accruals for expenses that have been incurred but not yet paid or invoiced.

  • Intercompany Transactions: Ensure that all intercompany transactions are reconciled and appropriately eliminated.

  • Ensure all month-end close procedures are completed in accordance with the company’s established timeline and reporting schedule.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal accounting controls to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and fraud prevention.

  • Ensure the company complies with all relevant regulatory standards and internal policies for accounting practices.

  • Prepare documentation for internal audits to ensure timely and successful audits.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations and marketing to align financial goals with business objectives.

  • Assist in the development of best practices within the accounting department to improve operational efficiencies.

Systems Improvement & Automation: Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting systems, processes, and software solutions.

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance (CPA is a bonus).

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting or supervisory role.

  • Experience with multiple legal entities, and multi-site process integrations

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, and internal controls.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.

  • Ability to lead projects and work with non-financial team members to help understand financial information and make appropriate business decisions.

  • Ability to identify where automation and efficiencies can be implemented.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
